The oldest museum of the Murmansk region, founded in 1926. Located in the building is a historical monument of the city. Engaged in acquisition, storage, popularization of historical and cultural monuments of the Murmansk region. Has 17 exposition halls.

The exhibition "The Nature of the Murmansk region" represented mineral wealth of the Kola Peninsula, the materials of the Kola ultradeep wells, the unit tunes in the Guinness Book of Records about the animal and plant world of the region.
