On the eve of the 9th of May, Murmansk, as well as other hero-cities of Russia, a special award - the sword of victory, will be presented. This fact was stated by the mayor of the city Aleksey Veller.

– Zlatoust craftsmen-armorers have forged beautiful memorable swords individually for each hero-city, - said Aleksey Veller
All blades are made of illustrious Zlatoust steel, decorated with delicate floral ornaments and a dedicatory inscription. On the all-metal sheath portraits of the great Russian generals are placed, and the handle is besrtrudded with semiprecious stones - garnets and topaz.
The head of the Administration of the city Aleksey Veller starts for Moscow, where the unique swords will be handed over to the representatives of the hero-cities, with the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Victor Fedorovich Markelov.

- Sword of Victory Presentation Ceremony is not the main, but an important stage of the preparation for the big holiday - the head of Murmansk noticed. - And this sword, surely, will take its rightful place among the awards, which our hero-city is honored.
